We send out invitations to Sutton Trust Online to all eligible students that apply to our programmes. In the case of our Summer Schools, these invitations are sent out prior to universities communicating their decisions about Summer School applications.
STO is a selective programme, and not everyone is accepted.
Sutton Trust Online (STO) is an award-winning digital platform. It’s fully online and totally free - open to state-educated Year 12s in England and Wales, S5 students in Scotland, and Year 13s in Northern Ireland who meet our grade and widening participation criteria.
STO is packed with interactive activities, expert advice, and key resources to support students on every step of their journey to university or an apprenticeship. It’s designed to give them the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed decisions about their next steps.
What students can expect:
- Personalised guidance through each stage - Explore. Apply. Prepare. Succeed.
- Live and on-demand content from university and employer partners, including expert advice on personal statements, admissions tests and interviews,
- Access to OSCAR, our interactive personal statement feedback tool, in partnership with Causeway Education,
- Opportunity to access academic tutoring,
- A supportive peer network via STO Chat, where students can connect, ask questions and share progress.
