The Pathways Online programmes come in two distinct streams: Banking & Finance and Law. Over the course of the programme, you will take part in a series of online sessions which cover:

  • Industry-specific sessions: insight panels with employers, information about routes into the sector, and employability skills workshops
  • Soft skills workshops such as public speaking
  • University access support: taster lectures, personal statement guidance and opportunities to get to know our partner universities

There will also be the opportunity to apply for a virtual work experience placement, which usually takes place over the school holidays.

Additionally, you'll get access to our online platform, Sutton Trust Online (STO), which has a wealth of resources to support you with your next steps, whether that's university, an apprenticeship or a specific career.

In terms of timelines, the Pathways Online programmes begin with an online launch in December, where you can meet the team and learn about what to expect from the programme. Over the course of year 12, you'll then attend a webinar approximately once (occasionally twice) a month, which will be held after school.

The programme continues into year 13, however the content will generally shift to our online platform, STO, to allow you to focus on your studies and university or apprenticeship applications.
